High-End Smartphones Become Mainstream: Q2 2025 Global Smartphone Average Price Nears $350, a New High
Phoenix Technology News 8th August, according to the latest market monitoring service data from Counterpoint Research, the global smartphone market in the second quarter of 2025 showed a trend of revenue growth diverging from shipment volume, with revenue performance particularly outstanding. For the first time, it exceeded $100 billion (approximately ¥7178.8 billion), setting a new record for the second quarter, with a year-on-year increase of 10%; while global smartphone shipments grew only 3% year-on-year.
At the same time, the average selling price (ASP) of global smartphones in the second quarter of 2025 also reached a new high, with a year-on-year increase of 7%, approaching $350 (approximately ¥2512.6).
Looking at the performance of major brands:
The top five brands, including Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi, OPPO, and Vivo, all achieved year-on-year revenue growth in the second quarter of 2025.
Among them, Apple's performance was particularly outstanding, setting a new high, with a market share of 43% and an increase of 13%. Samsung continued to maintain its leading position in global smartphone shipments, with revenue growth of 4% year-on-year.
OPPO's performance was impressive, with the average selling price (ASP) of global smartphones increasing by 14% year-on-year, the highest increase among the top five brands, and revenue growing by 10%. Vivo's revenue growth was 4% year-on-year, with shipments growing 5%.
Counterpoint Research predicts that the trend of high-end smartphones will continue, with revenue growth outpacing shipment volume in 2025.
