Host Confirms That "Wheel Proportion" Concept Is Not a Xiaomi Invention! Xiaomi Group Vice President Wang Hua: Xiaomi Enters Every Industry and Assumes the Responsibility of Popularizing Knowledge, Learning Until Old Age
August 12th, One Toyota Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. Planning Department Director @One Zhao Dong posted on Weibo, questioning the use of the "Wheel Proportion" concept by Xiaomi's YU7 car model in its promotional materials. Zhao Dong claimed that there is no such concept as "Wheel Proportion" or "Axle Ratio" in automotive theory, and these concepts are invented by Xiaomi.
August 14th, automobile blogger @Chen Zhe Ran Dk commented on the "Xiaomi YU7 Wheel Proportion" event, stating that many people were arguing whether the concept was new or not. They believed it is not a new concept and is just a basic parameter representing the ratio of wheel diameter to axle length, which has been widely used in various forms for over 20 years.
@Chen Zhe Ran Dk mentioned that, in their impression, even as early as the early 20th century, Rolls-Royce had used wheel radius as a measurement standard to determine the proportion of the entire vehicle. They designed the Silver Ghost car model, known as "The Best Car in the World." Later, the idea of using wheel radius to determine the proportion of the entire vehicle gradually gained acceptance, and similar concepts have been included in design textbooks such as "H-Point" and "Car Proportion."
Subsequently, Xiaomi Automobile Vice President @Li Xiao Fang reposted this article on Weibo and commented, "Each profession has its own experts; I learned something new.".
August 15th, Xiaomi Group Public Relations Department Director @Wang Hua also reposted the article and added a comment, "Xiaomi enters every industry and assumes the responsibility of popularizing knowledge. As someone who is not a technical expert, I have learned something new ~ it's still important to learn until old age!"
