2024 China Insurance Automotive Safety Index Third Assessment Results: L60, etc. achieve excellent ratings in structural integrity evaluation
Tech news from Phoenix Net July 30, 2024. The China Insurance Automotive Safety Index (C-IASI) 2024 assessment results have been released.
This time's release involves 9 models, including "Great Wall H6, Tesla Model 3, Volkswagen Passat, Mazda EZ-6, Passat Pro, L60, Dongfeng Nissan Explorer, Firefly Lightningbug, and Dongfeng Nissan N7", 2 SUVs, 6 sedans, and 1 MPV. Among them are 6 new energy vehicles.
In the evaluation of structural integrity, 4 models achieved excellent ratings, all with a zero-defect record (Volkswagen Passat, L60, Dongfeng Nissan Explorer, and Firefly Lightningbug); in the frontal low-speed collision test, one model (Great Wall H6) had an airbag deployment.
The passenger compartment safety index rating for 8 models was excellent (G) or above, with 4 models achieving a perfect score (G+).
In the driver-side frontal collision test with 25% offset, 7 models achieved excellent ratings, with 3 models having zero defects (Mazda EZ-6, Volkswagen Passat Pro, and Dongfeng Nissan Explorer);
In the passenger-side frontal collision test with 25% offset, 8 models achieved excellent ratings, with 6 models having zero defects (Tesla Model 3, Volkswagen Passat, Mazda EZ-6, L60, Dongfeng Nissan Explorer, and Firefly Lightningbug);
In the frontal collision test with 50% offset, all 9 models achieved excellent ratings, with 7 models having zero defects (Great Wall H6, Tesla Model 3, Volkswagen Passat, Mazda EZ-6, L60, Dongfeng Nissan Explorer, and Firefly Lightningbug);
In the side collision test, all 9 models achieved excellent ratings, with 5 models having zero defects (Tesla Model 3, Volkswagen Passat Pro, L60, Dongfeng Nissan Explorer, and Firefly Lightningbug);
The roof strength test showed that 100% of the vehicles achieved excellent ratings; the seat/headrest test also showed that 100% of the vehicles achieved excellent ratings.
