BAIC Group Sells 135,700 Vehicles in August, Up 13.6% YoY

September 5 evening, BAIC Group (601238) released its August production and sales report. In August, the company sold a total of 135,700 vehicles, up 13.6% year-on-year, with all subsidiaries realizing positive growth in sales.
Since the beginning of the year, BAIC Group has continued to implement effective inventory management policies, continuously improving its inventory health level. As of August 31st, the company's inventory was down 29.8% compared to last year and down 8.6% month-on-month.
In August, BAIC Weiwang sold 26,648 vehicles, up 10.7%, with multiple product series achieving growth. Among them, the MPV family sold 10,730 vehicles, up 15.2%, ranking first among mid-range and high-end MPVs; the SUV family sold 14,563 vehicles, up 46.7%; and the Image series sold 8,517 vehicles, up 16.5%.
Since the beginning of the year, BAIC Weiwang has continuously increased its sales of new energy vehicles, with a cumulative total of over 48,000 vehicles in January-August, up 10.9%. Among them, the E8 series sold 14,000 vehicles, maintaining its ranking as the best-selling new energy mid-range MPV for 14 consecutive months.
BAIC Senova sold 27,044 vehicles in August, up approximately 2%, with the AION V Home, a positioning of 100,000-grade family SUV, launched on August 27 and exceeding expectations in terms of orders.
In the joint venture brand, BAIC Honda sold 28,444 vehicles in August, up 19.9%. Among them, the Accord terminal sales reached 12,204 vehicles, with the Accord and Odyssey ranking first among mid-range high-end sedans and large MPVs, respectively.
BAIC Toyota sold 66,060 vehicles in August, up 4.8%, and achieved positive growth compared to last year. Among them, the Camry terminal sales reached 15,526 vehicles, with a hybrid version share of 79.8%; the Santana terminal sales reached 7,787 vehicles, maintaining its ranking as one of the top three MPV sellers in multiple months; and the Baojun E30 sold 7,324 vehicles, achieving a record high.
BAIC Group emphasized that the company is working hard to open up international markets, with exports of domestic brands increasing by 37.3% year-on-year in January-August, ranking among the top few in multiple key countries and regions.
Among them, BAIC Group ranked first among Chinese brands in Bolivia from January-July; in Thailand, it maintained its ranking as one of the top three electric vehicle sellers in the first half of the year; and in Singapore, it ranked fourth in electric vehicle sales in June, ranking second among Chinese brands.
While actively expanding international markets, BAIC Group has continued to deepen its layout around new energy vehicles. In August, a professional institution recognized by the National Development and Reform Commission conducted testing and certification, with BAIC becoming the first automaker to obtain dual 3C standards certification for both alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) charging stations, as well as achieving commercialization of Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology.
As of August, BAIC Group's self-operated charging network had covered 204 cities nationwide, with a total of 1,732 charging stations and over 191,290 charging terminals built, ranking among the top in terms of scale among automakers.
