2025 World Robot Festival Closes 26 Events Involving 487 Matches
August 17, the 2025 World Robot Festival closed. The organizers announced on-site that the second World Robot Festival will be held in Beijing in August 2026.
According to a reporter from Everyday Economic News, the 2025 World Robot Festival, which opened on August 14, saw 280 teams from 16 countries across five continents participate in 26 events including competitions, performances, scenario matches, and auxiliary matches, with a total of 487 matches and producing 26 gold medals.
This is the first World Robot Festival. At the closing ceremony, the 26 champions collectively appeared on stage. Among them, in the highly-anticipated "100-meter Flying Robot" competition, the "Tian Gong" robot from Beijing Robot Innovation Center won the championship with a time of 21.50 seconds. In the 5V5 football match, the Huo Shen team from Tsinghua University defeated the German HTVK+Nao Devils team 1-0 to win the championship.
Additionally, the World Robot Cooperation Organization, Global Digital Economy City Alliance, Asia-Pacific Robot World Cup International Council, and the China Electronics Society jointly launched the establishment of the World Robot Festival Association.
