6D Force Sensor Becomes a Critical Component for Robots, Multiple Listed Companies Engage in "Arms Race"

Securities Times reporter, Zang Xiaosong
As a new generation of "neural terminals," the 6D force sensor is a crucial component for solving motion control problems. According to insiders, more than ten listed companies have already entered this field and are engaging in an "arms race."
Currently, the production cost of the 6D force sensor is relatively high, making it imperative to reduce costs. With the rapid progress of robotics industrialization and increasing demand, the price of the 6D force sensor may become more "people-friendly." Jia Yongping, founder of Bingshen Technology Co., Ltd. (Changzhou), believes that the current single price of the 6D force sensor is basically above RMB 20,000, but mass production could bring it down to around RMB 2,000.
Multiple Listed Companies Engage in "Arms Race"
On August 11th, Jiu Ding Investment (600053) announced that it plans to acquire a 53.29% stake in Nanjing Godsource Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. for RMB 213 million. Jiu Ding Investment believes that Nanjing Godsource is one of the few domestic companies with the ability to develop 6D force sensors. After completing financing, Nanjing Godsource's valuation reached RMB 2 billion. Jiu Ding Investment expects that as more leading robot manufacturers integrate 6D force sensors into their products, the market space will expand significantly, and Nanjing Godsource's future development prospects are good, thus increasing its overall valuation to RMB 3 billion.
Before Jiu Ding Investment entered this field, many listed companies had already begun to develop "neural terminals." Donghua Test reported that the company is currently in small-batch prototype production. On August 14th, a relevant person from the company told reporters that they are communicating with several robot manufacturers and conducting sample testing, saying, "The requirements of customers vary greatly, and we are also customizing our research and development based on their needs."
Shenxin shares, located in Suzhou, has started researching and developing the 6D force sensor, IMU for robots, and hand-type pressure and temperature sensors. The company is actively communicating with related manufacturers to promote product applications.
In an interactive platform, Haozhichuan Machine & Electric Co., Ltd. mentioned that the company has cracked a series of core functional components, including the 6D force sensor, and has achieved national production of intelligent robot core functional components. As of June 2025, the company's sales revenue reached RMB 1221.03 million, with a year-on-year growth rate of 127%.
Why is it becoming "delicious"??
The sudden popularity of the 6D force sensor is inseparable from the explosion of the robotics industry. "Robotics is one of the most promising and prospective industries in today's world," believes Jia Yongping.
"As the application scenarios of robots continue to expand, the demand for sensors will grow exponentially." Li Gang, chairman of Shenxin shares, told Securities Times reporters.
No matter whether it's a common sweeping robot or a cutting-edge humanoid robot, sensors are the core components that enable them to achieve intelligent operations. According to CTO Yuan Ming of Kunwei Technology Co., Ltd., "If the force direction is fixed, one-dimensional force sensors can be used; if the force action point coincides with the reference point of the sensor but the force direction varies randomly, three-dimensional force sensors should be used; and if the force direction and action point both vary randomly in a three-dimensional space, six-dimensional force sensors are needed."
According to an IDC report, China's robot sales output reached approximately 20,000 units in 2024. A research report from Morgan Stanley predicts that the global robot output may reach 180,000 units in 2025. According to a research report from Zhongjin Securities Co., Ltd., the penetration rate of six-dimensional force sensors in robots is expected to be higher than 30%.
Cost Reduction is a Key Decisive Factor
According to market research institutions, by 2030, China's six-dimensional force sensor output will exceed one million units, and the market scale may reach tens of billions. Robots will become the main application scenario.
However, since the total sales volume of six-dimensional force sensors is still relatively low, production costs are still high, and industry insiders' demand for cost reduction is extremely urgent.
