Why are funds actively positioning themselves in the AI sector?
1. The science and technology innovation board is expected to experience a rebound. CITIC Securities notes that with the continued implementation of policies such as the "1+6" policy for the sci-tech board and financial support for sci-tech-related policies, the sci-tech board has been expected to experience a rebound since April this year.
2. On an industrial level, AI is expected to see a concentrated positive trend in August, with the release of models such as GPT-5 and DeepSeek R2, which are worth paying attention to for their multi-modal abilities, leading to potential acceleration in tech trends.
3. At the policy level, macro and local policies are working together. Macro policies include deepening the implementation of "AI+" actions, strongly promoting the scale commercialization application of AI. Local policies are continuously being rolled out to support macro policies, such as Beijing's 16 measures to promote future industrial development, focusing on general AI; Shanghai's "Explorer Plan" has been implemented, attracting more AI-related enterprises; and Shenzhen's plan is to apply AI in all domains, industries, and fields.
4. Domestic substitution and self-control are pressing issues. The security concerns of NVIDIA H20 chips may affect the domestic market, and the US has not relaxed its control over AI chip imports. The Cyberspace Administration of China has already conducted a meeting with NVIDIA on July 31. The safety vulnerabilities of H20 chips may impact domestic manufacturers' procurement decisions, leading to an acceleration in self-control trends.
Securities and Futures Commission notes that the trend of domestic substitution is driven by both policy and market forces, and AI is expected to transition from cloud computing to edge computing. It is recommended to focus on equipment, materials, and components with high domestic substitution rates, as well as opportunities for terminal upgrades.
【Domestic Replacement Beacon, Sci-Tech Self-Strengthening】
AI as a key core technology is crucial to achieving self-control. The focus is on the domestic AI industry chain with strong features of domestic substitution, and ETF (589520) has risen by nearly 1% today, with a limited daily price increase of 20%, showing high elasticity characteristics.
As of July 31, the top ten heavyweights in the fund had an occupancy rate of over 67%, with the largest sector being semiconductors, accounting for nearly half. This indicates a strong attacking ability.
