Aphria Inc. (APH.US) to Acquire Communications Company's Broadband Connectivity Business for $10.5 Billion
Citing knowledgeable sources, Aphria Inc. (APH.US) is poised to acquire Communications Company's (COMM.US) broadband connectivity business department for approximately $10.5 billion (inclusive of debt).
As previously reported in May, Communications Company was exploring the sale of this business unit (CCS) to settle debts.
A knowledgeable source claims that this transaction may be completed as early as next Monday and would represent Aphria's largest acquisition to date. Last year, the company purchased Communications Company's mobile network business for $210 million in cash.
Aphria primarily designs and manufactures data center-use fiber optic connectors, antennas, and specialty cabling products, with AI-related product demand experiencing a recent surge. The target CCS business mainly sells data center connection products and network infrastructure equipment.
