Bank of China Ranks 309th in Global Fortune 500, Slips 17 Places After Leadership Change

Bank of China's operating income has been declining for four consecutive years. From 2020 to 2024, Bank of China's operating income was RMB 1963.84 billion, RMB 1909.82 billion, RMB 1886.22 billion, RMB 1734.34 billion, and RMB 1707.48 billion, with a year-on-year change of -2.99%, -2.75%, -1.24%, -8.05%, and -1.55%, respectively.
The performance reports of the 12 nationwide commercial banks in China for 2024 show that Bank of China's operating income has dropped out of the top tier. In 2024, Bank of China achieved an operating income ranking fourth among shareholding commercial banks. However, the difference between Bank of China and the third-ranked Industrial Bank has widened to RMB 414.78 billion.
