Beijing City: Advocating for Valuing Childbearing, Guiding Young People to Establish Correct Views on Marriage, Childbearing, and Family

July 31st, 2022 | Beijing Municipal Government Office Published the "Work Measures for Beijing City's Urban-Rural Comprehensive Development Plan". The document highlights nurturing a new type of marriage and childbearing culture. It advocates for valuing childbearing and its social value, implementing supportive measures for positive childbearing, promoting age-appropriate marriage and childbearing, and encouraging couples to share childcare responsibilities. By leveraging the roles of family, society, and schools, it guides young people in establishing correct views on marriage, childbearing, and family, strengthening family education and cultural construction. It also enhances matchmaking guidance services, creates youth social service brands such as "Youth Sincerity Team", provides credible matchmaking services, actively conducts marital and family counseling, and promotes reforms of traditional marriage customs and eliminates outdated practices such as lavish wedding ceremonies and high-end dowries.
