Beijing's Fengtai, Mentougou, Shijingshan, Fangshan, Huairou, Changping Multiple Districts Issue Red Alert for Heavy Rainfall, Expect Local or Widespread Heavy Rain Today

Groron Herald August 4th | Due to the joint influence of high-level trough and subtropical high-pressure system, Beijing will experience heavy rain from afternoon to night today. The western, northern, and mountainous areas are expected to see heavy rain. The Beijing Meteorological Observatory upgraded its yellow alert for heavy rain at 9:10 am this morning. It is predicted that from 12 pm on August 4th to 8 am on August 5th, most areas will experience intense rainfall with a maximum hourly amount of 70 mm or a maximum 6-hour amount of 100 mm or more. In some parts of Fengtai, Mentougou, Shijingshan, Fangshan, Huairou, and Changping districts, the 6-hour rainfall amount may exceed 150 mm or even reach 200 mm in isolated areas. Moreover, Fengtai, Mentougou, Shijingshan, Fangshan, Huairou, and Changping have already issued red alerts for heavy rain.
