China Automotive Association Publishes Third Batch of Vehicle Data Processing 5 Safety Requirements Testing Results
Opinion Net News: On August 18, the China Automobile Association released the testing results for its third batch of vehicle data processing 5 safety requirements. Since April 2025, the association has been conducting centralized testing on domestic automakers' compliance with data security regulations, covering requirements such as anonymization of face information, in-car data processing, and explicit notification of personal information.
The test results show that a total of 13 companies, including FAW-Tech, FAW Group, Volkswagen, Geely, Ideal Automobile, Changan Automobile, Xiaomi Automobile, Saic Motor, Zhongsheng Automobile, and BYD Auto, with 49 vehicle models, meet all the compliance standards. Some vehicles were exempt from certain requirements due to their functional design not involving face information processing.
Simultaneously, it was found that some vehicles still exist three typical problems: the face detection rate in anonymized video is less than 90%; sensitive personal information authorization is set to "always allow" or "permanent"; and continuous collection of sensitive information without real-time prompts through the dashboard icon or indicator light.
