China's 5G Mobile Phone Users Reach 1.118 Billion, with 120,000 New 5G-Related Companies in Half a Year
As of the first half of 2025, China's information and communication industry maintained stable operation, with telecom business volume increasing by 9.3% year-on-year, totaling 9055 billion yuan. Network support capabilities have significantly improved, with a total of 455 million 5G base stations, a 5G user penetration rate exceeding 79%, and 2.26 billion households using ultra-broadband, with smart computing capacity reaching 748 EFLOPS, laying the foundation for digital economic development.
Industry fusion applications have continued to deepen, with new emerging businesses such as 5G calling and cloud gaming developing rapidly, covering 86 major categories of national economy. Over 18,500 "5G+ Industrial Internet" projects have been built. In terms of universal services, the proportion of administrative villages covered by 5G has exceeded 90%, and measures such as age-friendly renovation and digital senior courses have benefited seniors, with online services accounting for over 91% and convenience greatly enhanced.
Data from Tianyan Check Professional Edition shows that, as of now, there are over 732,000 5G-related companies in operation or suspended status in China. Among them, approximately 120,000 new registrations were added in 2025, with the number of registered 5G-related companies showing an upward trend over the past five years and reaching a peak in 2024.
From a regional perspective, Guangdong Province, Jiangsu Province, and Beijing Municipality have the largest numbers of 5G-related companies, respectively exceeding 91,000, 46,000, and 45,000.
In addition, according to Tianyan Check's risk and deep risk analysis, approximately 1.56% of 5G-related companies are involved in judicial cases.
