Chinese Banks Summit in 2025: Setting Key Tasks for the Second Half of the Year
Since July, many Chinese banks, including Agricultural Bank of China, Bank of China, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, China Construction Bank, and Bank of Communications, have successively held their mid-year work conferences for 2025.
During these meetings, each bank summarized its performance in the first half of the year, deployed key tasks for the second half, and promoted itself to complete all-year-round management objectives. On one hand, the banking industry as a whole has presented a stable and improving development trend. On the other hand, facing complex and changing economic and financial situations, banks will focus on "five major articles" ("五篇大文章"), deepening reforms, reducing costs while increasing efficiency, and controlling risks.
Notably, some banks have listed "anti-circulation" work as a key point for the second half of the year. For example, Bank of Communications has emphasized resisting "circular" competition, adhering to long-termism, and safeguarding risk bottom lines.
Focusing on "five major articles," the banking industry's performance in the first half of the year was stable and improving.
This year, various banks have actively responded to national policies, promoting their performance and achieving steady growth.
