Founder of Xiaomi Group Lei Jun: Wuhan Jinshan Software Park to Reach a Scale of 10,000 Employees by Year-end! Collaborates with 13 Universities to Establish "Engineering Training Camp"

August 18th afternoon news, Jinshan Group held a grand opening ceremony for Wuhan Jinshan Software Park in Guangzhou. Lei Jun, Chairman of Jinshan Group and Founder & CEO of Xiaomi Group, shared the company's achievements during the event, saying that since 2017, Jinshan has established its headquarters in East Lake High-Tech Zone (600133). Initially, the team had only a few hundred people, but now it has grown to nearly 4,000 employees in Wuhan.
According to Lei Jun, Xiaomi and Jinshan have set a goal to establish a "10,000-person R&D center" in Wuhan by 2023. As of now, the total number of employees in Wuhan has reached 9,500, with an expected growth to around 10,000 people by year-end.
It is worth noting that since 2017, Jinshan Group has established multiple subsidiaries in Wuhan. For instance, Jinshan Office provides office software services to over 6.32 billion users across 220 countries and regions, while Jinshan Cloud builds a full-stack cloud computing capability in Wuhan, supporting the digital transformation of Hubei Province.
In addition to business development, Jinshan Group has collaborated with Wuhan University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and 13 other universities to establish an "Engineering Training Camp" over the past four years, nurturing 3,607 ICT talents and setting up a "Tech+" scholarship program to encourage more young students to pursue digital technology innovation.
Lei Jun emphasized that this event marks an important milestone for Jinshan Group's roots in Wuhan. The software park covers an area of 118 acres, with total construction area of 280,000 square meters, accommodating up to 9,000 employees simultaneously. Apart from office buildings, the park also features facilities such as cafeterias, apartments, fitness centers, rooftop gardens, and indoor sports venues, fully embodying the concept of "technology coexisting with humanity".
Lei Jun stated that Hubei Province is accelerating its development into a key strategic hub for the central region, and Jinshan Group has been fortunate enough to be part of this process. He emphasized that the province's future relies on the innovative efforts of each generation, and Jinshan will continue to increase its R&D investment, integrate itself into the Hubei National Science and Technology Innovation Center, and inject sustained momentum into the province's high-quality development.
