Friend: Xiaomi Auto Sales Require Pre-Payment of Balance, or Face Order Cancellation, Deposit Refund Suspension, and Production Delay! Officially Unresponsive
Recently, multiple netizens have revealed on social media that after paying the deposit for Xiaomi auto purchases, they were required to pre-pay the balance upfront, or face the risk of order cancellation, deposit non-refundable, and production delay.
Consumers have reported that they had already paid the deposit, received a sales notice, and were assured that the order would be temporarily suspended to ensure a smooth transaction. The original delivery period was not applicable, and the customer had to pay the balance within 30 days to continue production.
According to the Xiaomi auto purchase agreement, users are required to pay all remaining balance within 7 natural days from the date of vehicle balance payment notice. After locking in an order, Xiaomi has the right to notify customers at any time according to vehicle production arrangements or sales conditions. Failure to make timely and full payments or refusal to do so constitutes a fundamental breach of contract, allowing Xiaomi to cancel the order and terminate this agreement, with no refund of the deposit already paid.
This clause is a "must-agree" requirement during the car-buying process, otherwise, it's impossible to complete the purchase flow. Many consumers have questioned whether this is an unreasonable condition.
However, Xiaomi's official WeChat account has explicitly stated that Xiaomi supports paying the balance after verifying the vehicle, but recommends that customers handle relevant procedures in advance to reduce waiting time when picking up their cars.
Sina Technology inquired about this matter, but Xiaomi officials remained unresponsive.
