He Xiaopeng: Xiaopeng Motors and Volkswagen Group May Launch Collaborative Vehicle Models as Early as 2026
Xinhua Tech News, August 15th, in response to the strategic cooperation agreement signed by Xiaopeng Motors and Volkswagen Group, Xiaopeng Motors' chairman He Xiaopeng expressed his happiness at being able to continuously learn from others and improve himself through collaboration. He does not think that China's new energy vehicles have a significant advantage over other countries, but instead believes that Xiaopeng Motors will continue to innovate in the field of intelligent electric vehicles with Volkswagen Group, looking forward to the launch of collaborative vehicle models as early as 2026.
According to previous reports by Xinhua Tech, on the morning of August 15th, Xiaopeng Motors and Volkswagen Group announced that they had signed a strategic cooperation agreement to jointly develop advanced electronic electrical architecture applications. The scope of their joint development will be expanded from pure electric vehicles to gasoline-powered vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicle platforms.
According to the latest joint development protocol, both parties will invest all their efforts in developing industry-leading electronic electrical architectures for Volkswagen's CMP and MEB platforms produced in China. The electronic electrical architectures developed by both parties not only will be deployed on Volkswagen's pure electric vehicle platforms in China but also will be integrated into gasoline-powered and plug-in hybrid vehicle platforms, achieving platformized applications across different power forms.
The research teams of both parties have achieved through in-depth technical innovation, verifying that the electronic electrical architectures originally developed for pure electric vehicles can be effectively adapted to gasoline-powered and plug-in hybrid platforms. The success of this technology solution will significantly expand the coverage range of vehicles equipped with this architecture in the Chinese market.
