Apple Foldable Phone Concept
China Tech News, Beijing Time August 4th, according to MacRumors, Jeff Pu, an analyst at Guohai Securities (Hong Kong), released his latest research report stating that Apple's foldable screen phone iPhone 18 Fold is progressing smoothly and expected to be released in the second half of 2026. However, the larger-sized 18.8-inch foldable screen device may be delayed.
Jeff Pu stated in his research report on Apple's latest third-quarter earnings that he expects limited innovation from iPhone 17 series. In contrast, he is more optimistic about iPhone 18 Fold, stating its supply chain "is progressing smoothly" and is expected to be released in the second half of 2026.
In addition to iPhone 18 Fold, Apple is also developing a larger-screen foldable device that may be a hybrid product between MacBook and tablet computer.

However, Jeff Pu noted that this 18.8-inch foldable device may be delayed, but did not provide specific reasons for the delay. The report states that the device is expected to enter mass production and may be released in 2027 instead of the previously expected fourth quarter of 2026. Prior to this, Mark Gurman, a well-known Apple analyst at Bloomberg, believed that Apple is developing a foldable iPad with a 20-inch display, which is expected to be released in 2028.
