July Sales Records for Automakers: Zero Run (09863), Xiaopeng (09868) Lead the Pack, Ideal Motors Slumps
We learned from various sources that on August 1st, automakers publicly released their delivery data for last month. In July, BYD (002594.SZ) led the pack with a whopping 344,296 vehicles delivered, while four new forces in the industry showed significant changes in their delivery numbers. Zero Run (09863) and Xiaopeng Automobile (09868) both set new records for single-month deliveries, with Zero Run delivering over 50,000 vehicles for the first time. Ideal Motors, on the other hand, saw a decline of around 15% compared to the same period last year.
A closer look at the numbers reveals:
BYD announced that in July, it delivered 344,296 vehicles, up from 342,383 vehicles in the same period last year. Passenger vehicle deliveries totaled 341,030 units, with pure electric passenger vehicle deliveries reaching 177,887 units and plug-in hybrid passenger vehicle deliveries totaling 163,143 units.
Geely (00175) announced on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange that in July, it delivered a total of 237,700 vehicles, representing a year-on-year increase of 58%.
Xiaopeng stated that in July, Xiaopeng Automobile delivered 21,017 new vehicles, with a year-to-date increase of 25.2%. The company's brand deliveries reached 12,675 units, while Lixiang brand deliveries totaled 5,976 units and Firefly brand deliveries came in at 2,366 units. On July 31st, the L90 (Smart Large Space Flagship SUV) was officially launched and began delivery to customers.
A high-ranking official from Xiaopeng Automobile revealed on their personal social media platform that the L90 had a "sales system meltdown" after its release. Prior to the launch of the L90, many brokerages issued optimistic predictions, believing that this model would be competitive in its price range.
Zero Run (09863) announced that in July, Zero Run Automobile delivered a total of 36,717 new vehicles, representing a year-on-year increase of 229% and a month-on-month increase of 6%. This marked the highest single-month delivery record for the company. From January to July, Zero Run Automobile had cumulative deliveries totaling 233,906 units, with a year-on-year increase of 270%.
Ideal Motors (02015) announced that in July, Ideal Motors delivered 30,731 new vehicles. As of July 31st, the company's historical cumulative delivery total reached 1,368,541 units.
Xiaomi founder, chairman, and CEO Lei Jun released a message on Weibo stating that in July, Xiaomi Automobile deliveries exceeded 30,000 units, representing a year-on-year increase of around 20%.
Zero Run Automobile (09863) officially announced on their official Weibo account that the company delivered a total of 50,129 vehicles across its entire lineup in July, representing a year-on-year increase of over 126%. Zero Run Automobile also set a new record for monthly deliveries, exceeding 5,000 units.
Zhitong Motors: In July, the company delivered a total of 7,027 vehicles.
Jixiang Technology: In July, the company delivered a total of 44,200 vehicles, representing a year-on-year increase of 20% and a month-on-month increase of 3%. This marked the fifth consecutive month that the company's monthly deliveries had exceeded 40,000 units. Among these, Jixiang brand deliveries reached 1.7 million units, while Lingke brand deliveries totaled 2.72 million units.
Guangqi EA: In July, the company delivered a total of 26,557 vehicles.
