Micron Adjusts China Operations Amid Weakening Demand for Mobile NAND Products
Grandon Global August 12 | According to Interface News, Micron adjusts its China operations. In response to this change, Micron states that due to persistent weak financial performance of mobile NAND products in the market and slower growth compared to other NAND opportunities, the company will cease developing future mobile NAND products globally, including terminating the development of UFS5 (the fifth-generation universal flash storage). Micron notes that this decision only affects the global development work for mobile NAND products, while Micron will continue developing and supporting other NAND solutions such as SSDs and NAND solutions for automotive and other terminal markets. Additionally, Micron will continue to develop and support the global market for mobile DRAM (memory chip) and provide industry-leading DRAM product combinations.
