Musk Disbands Self-Developed Chip and Supercomputer Projects After Tesla Reorganizes Engineering Teams!
After disbanding self-developed chip and supercomputer projects, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has reorganized engineering teams, impacting multiple groups.
The terminated Dojo business has been split up, with relevant personnel being reassigned to multiple teams. A knowledgeable source reveals that at least some software-focused employees are now reporting to Ashok Elluswamy, who is responsible for Tesla's AI work in autonomous driving and humanoid robotics.
An anonymous source willing to discuss internal changes revealed that other engineers working on silicon or semiconductor projects are now reporting to Aaron Rodgers, who is responsible for Tesla's autonomous driving hardware and oversees the AI5 chip. Firmware employees are now led by Silvio Brugada.
Tesla and Musk's representatives have not responded to requests for comment.
These measures show that Tesla is reorganizing after suddenly terminating its Dojo project, and also demonstrate Elluswamy's rising status as he currently co-leads Tesla's AI projects in autonomous driving and humanoid robotics.
It remains unclear how many Dojo engineers have left Tesla. Prior reports indicated that startup DensityAI had hired around 20 experienced senior engineers from Tesla.
