National Health Commission: Reduce the Costs of Childrearing, Education, and Leave for Further Improvement of Maternity Leave System
Glorionnet July 30th丨The State Council Information Office held a press conference today at 14:00 to introduce relevant situations about childcare subsidies and support measures. Vice Director Guo Yanhong of the National Health Commission introduced that the National Health Commission will work with relevant departments to reduce the costs of childrearing, education, and leave for the public through multiple channels, including deducting childcare fees for children under 3 years old from individual income tax at a standard of up to ¥2,000 per month per child; further improving the maternity leave system by extending paid leave in all provinces (municipalities, cities) to 158 days or more; and setting up paternity leave of around 15 days and parental leave of 5-20 days.
