New Energy Vehicle Market Penetration Rate Reaches a New High, with Related Enterprises Exceeding 1.36 Million
According to data from the China Machinery Industrial Union, the new energy vehicle market penetration rate reached 44.3% in the first half of this year, setting a new high for the same period. Previously, data from the Automobile Association showed that by June, new energy vehicles accounted for 53.3% of total retail sales of passenger cars in China, an increase of 4.8 percentage points over the same period last year. Moreover, among self-owned brands, the penetration rate of new energy vehicles reached 75.4%.
Data from Qichacha shows that as of early August, there were approximately 1.36 million enterprises related to new energy vehicles in China. In terms of registration volume, a total of 319,000 new energy vehicle-related enterprises registered in 2024, with 19,040 registering so far this year, an increase of 5.17% over the same period last year.

Data from Qichacha shows that as of early August, there were approximately 1.36 million enterprises related to new energy vehicles in China. In terms of operating time, the majority of these enterprises were established within 3 years, accounting for 36.93%. The next most common group was those established between 1-3 years ago, accounting for 22.86%, followed by those established more than 5 years ago.
2. Enterprises with registered capital under 100 million yuan are the most numerous

Data from Qichacha shows that in terms of registered capital, the majority of these enterprises had a registered capital under 100 million yuan, accounting for 39.15%. The next most common group was those with registered capital between 100-200 million yuan, accounting for 22.04%, followed by those with registered capital between 200-500 million yuan.
3. Enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta region are the most numerous

Data from Qichacha shows that in terms of regional distribution, the majority of these enterprises were located in the Yangtze River Delta region, accounting for 34.94%. The next most common group was those located in the South China region, accounting for 17.40%.
