Near the end of August 11, US President Trump publicly confirmed that he had requested a 15% "transaction license tax" on AI chip exports to China from NVIDIA and AMD. Trump revealed that he initially demanded a 20% fee, but after negotiations with NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, the percentage was reduced to 15%.
