Opening Ceremony of the World Robot Olympics, AI Robots March in Formation for the First Time
【Observer Wang Yu】August 14th, 2025. The opening ceremony of the World Robot Olympics was held at the Beijing National Speed Skating Rink's "Ice Ribbon". According to our reporter, this is the first comprehensive robot event with robots as the core, and it will last until August 17th, attracting teams from 16 countries across five continents, including over 500 robots. The competition will be held in 26 events and 538 projects.
During the opening ceremony, 15 robotic performers, BoosterT1 and K1, performed a dance routine as the core members of the show. Later, 25 robots from China's winning team at the 2025 RoboCup World Cup in Brazil took to the stage, showcasing their capabilities.
Scene Inside and Outside: From "Technological Performers" to "Ecosystem Builders"
According to reports, this is the first time AI robots have marched in formation. Without remote control or human intervention, these robots independently march in formation, demonstrating their ability to operate with high precision and accuracy.
Worth noting is that on this platform showcasing cutting-edge robotics technology and trends from around the world, Acceleration as an important participant has provided hardware support and technical services to over 40 teams participating in the event, demonstrating China's strength in robot development.
Inside the competition arena, Acceleration's imprint is everywhere. In the football event unit, robots equipped with core sensing, control, navigation, and decision-making algorithms will complete continuous actions such as stealing, passing, and shooting – these robots include the same models that helped China win the 2025 RoboCup World Cup in Brazil, both facing research-oriented Booster T1 and education-oriented Booster K1.
"We are not just a hardware platform, but also 'ecosystem builders'." Acceleration's Vice President Zhao Weichen said in an interview with our reporter, adding that the company has opened up its 3v3 brain decision-making algorithm and provided one-stop development tools and training courses, even helping zero-baseline high school teams complete competitive program development within two weeks.
In his view, the breakthrough of robotics technology requires "real-life" scene verification: the real-time sensing, multi-agent coordination, and anti-collision motion control capabilities involved in football matches are highly correlated with core requirements for avoiding obstacles and safe interactions in daily life scenarios.
"Technology + Landing" Dual Engine: Aiming to Become a Benchmark for Apple and Microsoft's Personal Robots
Acceleration was founded in 2023 by its founder, Cheng Hao, who is also the third captain of the Tsinghua Fire Team that won the 2025 RoboCup World Cup; Chief Scientist Zhao Mingguang is the founder of the Fire Team and the director of the Robotics Control Laboratory at Tsinghua University's Automation Department, with a team that has been deeply involved in robotics research for 20 years.
According to data, Acceleration achieved mass production in its first year and has delivered hundreds of robots, with over 50% sold overseas, covering more than 20 countries' universities and research institutions.
Outside the competition arena, Acceleration's commercial map is rapidly expanding. In terms of financing, this startup has received capital-intensive support from various investors, including source code capital, INNOVA angel investors, Waterwood Venture Capital, Zhongguancun Science Park, and more.
As reported, Acceleration's commercial strategy is to establish a short-term foothold in the robotics market (hundred-billion-level) through events, research, and education, followed by a mid-term entry into home companion and logistics scenarios (thousand-billion-level), with a long-term goal of becoming "a benchmark for Apple and Microsoft's personal robots" (ten-thousand-billion-level).
In addition to Acceleration, other companies that participated in this event include Tianyi, Universe Technology, Mantis Dynamics, Zuiyide, Furielle, and StarSea Graphics, covering top robot manufacturers in China.
