Robot "Workaholic" Showcases Various Skills at 2025 World Robot Conference
【Reporter Wang Xin and Summer Xing】 August 10, the 5-day 2025 World Robot Conference (WRC) has entered its third day, with excitement continuing to build. Our reporter saw at the scene that not only were there robot football matches, boxing matches, dance performances, etc., but also groups of "working" robots, including robotic baristas, sorting workers, movers, and service robots, interacting closely with audiences while showcasing various scenarios where robots are gradually becoming part of everyday life.
As learned, this year's World Robot Conference has seen an upgrade in scale. The conference set up three major exhibition halls: Innovation Hall, Application Hall, and Technology Hall, featuring over 200 excellent robot enterprises from home and abroad, with more than 1,500 exhibits on display, including over 100 new products making their debut at the conference. Moreover, 50 robotic humanoid companies brought latest exhibits and industry solutions to the show, setting a record for the number of participating companies in similar exhibitions.

Fighting Robots, Football Robots, and More
At the conference, Hangzhou Universe Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Universe) brought its robot boxing match to the exhibition area, making it a focal point of the entire scene. Our reporter saw that even before the fight began, the Universe booth had been surrounded by attendees eager to see the action.
As the referee gave the signal, the robot boxing match officially started, with two robotic humanoids in the center of the ring moving flexibly, throwing punches, and exchanging blows in a thrilling performance.
According to introduction, the robots that appeared at the boxing match were Universe's G1 fighting humanoid robot and its new R1 humanoid robot. The R1 robot, which was first unveiled in July this year, has sparked intense interest. This 25kg lightweight product is priced at ¥3.99 million, showcasing its excellent value advantage, and supports complex movements such as punching and running.
The R1 robot is equipped with voice and image multimodal big models, and its EDU version serves as an open platform, providing software and hardware interfaces for developers and research institutions, accelerating the commercialization process of humanoid robots in education and service fields.

Meanwhile, a robotic football match was underway near the Universe booth.
Our reporter saw at the Beijing Speed Evolution Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Speed) exhibition area that four robots were divided into two teams and competing in a 2V2 AI football match on a small-sized pitch, attracting many attendees to gather and cheer for their favorite robot team.

“The robots that participate in the match are all 2025 RoboCup Brazilian Robot Football World Cup champions, and the rules of the game use zero control, full AI autonomous decision-making mode.” Speed's relevant responsible person introduced.
In addition to intense competition performances, the conference also showcased robotic bands, dance shows, etc. The Linker Hand series of dexterous hands from Beijing Lingxiang Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Lingxiang) performed a piano concert, and in other performances, including drumming and guitar playing, showcased its flexibility.
From Magic Atomic Robot Technology Co., Ltd. (Wuxi) (hereinafter referred to as Magic Atomic), the dual-legged humanoid robot MagicBot Gen1, MagicBot Z1, and quadruped robot MagicDog gathered together to form a "dance troupe" and perform an exquisite group dance, with smart robots exhibiting elegance, and attendees cheering wildly.

Robots Gradually Entering Real-Life Scenarios
Our reporter noticed that this year's conference saw robots more frequently entering everyday life scenarios, from "showing off" to "actually working".

At the Shanghai Lianrong Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Lianrong) service robot booth, XMAN-R1 was "working" at a fast-moving restaurant. After an attendee placed an order, it smoothly took out the ordered snacks from the snack plate, packaged them, and delivered them to the customer.
“The conference also has Lianrong's C40 cleaning family, W3 delivery family, etc., with over 10 robots 'working' on site, showcasing the coordinated collaboration and real-life working scenarios of service robots, not only allowing attendees to intuitively feel the landing of intelligent technology but also marking a milestone in the development of service robots from single-functionality to ecosystem-based services.” Lianrong's relevant responsible person said.
Apart from life scenarios, many robots have already "entered" factories, taking on various tasks as "working robots".

At the conference, Magic Atomic first showcased its universal humanoid robot MagicBot Gen-1's "double-handed operation" industrial assembly line scenario in person. On-site at the point of adhesive application every 20 seconds, small mice could simultaneously perform two motor operations with their left and right hands. “This is our full-scale universal dual-legged humanoid robot 'small mouse', which has already entered factories to work as early as December last year. It can continuously operate for over 4 hours without interruption, with precision control within 1-2 millimeters, effectively improving industrial process efficiency and providing new imagination space for automation renovation.” Magic Atomic's relevant responsible person told the reporter.
