This laboratory is a key innovation base for China Energy Corporation, and it is currently the world's largest and most advanced artificial rock storage testing platform. The platform has two super-large test caverns, with a maximum burial depth of 110 meters and a maximum pressure rating of 20 MPa. It also features synchronized testing capabilities for both test caverns.
China Energy Corporation led the joint efforts by Changjiang Design Group, Wanhua Energy Group, and others to achieve eight key breakthroughs in areas such as sealing technology, rock mechanics, data acquisition, and high-pressure gas state observation. This has enabled 100% self-sufficiency.

According to reports, this milestone breakthrough has opened up new possibilities for utilizing deep underground resources under conditions of high pressure and large fluctuations. This will accelerate the development of the compressed air energy storage industry, enabling the widespread application of this technology in areas such as hydrogen, natural gas, ammonia, and oil storage.
It is noted that China Energy Corporation's high-pressure gas storage laboratory has achieved technical innovation breakthroughs that are synchronized with the world's first (set) Gansu Yumen 300 MW compressed air energy storage demonstration project. With the successful connection to the grid of the Yumen project, China has made a new breakthrough in the compressed air energy storage industry.
