“Silent” Open-source Community Expands, Merging Six Major Technology Tracks to Drive Industry Applications
Sina Tech News, August 14th afternoon news, today, the "Silent" open-source community for trusted private computing announced an upgrade: from "trusted private computing open-source community" to "Silent · Data Trustworthy Flow Technology Community", which will gradually cover six major technology tracks, including privacy protection computing, trustworthy data space, data components, networked intelligence, blockchain, and scene, forming a multi-technology fusion. In the future, through open-source code, collaborative standards, and co-creation scenarios, provide one-stop, verifiable, and interconnected data flow technology foundation for multiple fields such as medicine, finance, city governance, manufacturing, etc.
Against the backdrop of the nationwide "Data Element ×" action speeding up, trusted data flow has transitioned from top-level design to a benchmark landing. However, in industry applications, there are still obstacles such as consensus difficulties, successful cases landing but technical implementation not unified and transparent, and high barriers to large-scale flow landing at the "last mile". Standardization is also difficult, with relevant documents and standards revised cycles long and granularities coarse, making it difficult to directly map to technical implementation scenarios. Application thresholds are also high, requiring certain periods of time for technology to be converted into usable and replicable production tools.
To address this issue, Ant Financial Group's Ant Trustworthy Computing, China Electronic Data Industry Association, National Industrial Information Security Development Research Center, Zhejiang University Blockchain and Data Security National Key Laboratory, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., and Beijing Jiaotong University, etc. have jointly launched this upgrade to build a comprehensive technology ecosystem covering trustworthy data space, data components, networked intelligence, blockchain, privacy protection computing, and scene, gradually opening code to the outside world, promoting cross-domain technical collaboration and standard co-creation.
The upgraded "Silent · Data Trustworthy Flow Technology Community" will aggregate data flow whole-stack technology, flexibly combining according to regional or industry needs, providing higher computing performance, supporting more types of computation, and solving traditional sandbox's inability to resist data breaches. The community will continue to iterate, promoting technical interoperability, providing safer, lower-cost data flow technology solutions, and better ecosystem compatibility.

Since July 2022, Ant Financial Group's trusted private computing core technology has been completely open-sourced. Currently, the "Silent" community links over 20,000 developers worldwide, 70+ universities and research institutions, 60+ industry partners. In industrial landing, Silent has achieved significant results in fields such as P2P lending, new energy vehicle insurance, etc. In public data development, Silent supports Hangzhou City's trustworthy computing center, Jiangxi Province's data flow infrastructure platform, etc., providing technical support for safe and trustworthy data flow.
Ant Financial Group has invested in privacy computing technology research since 2016, covering whole-stack trusted technology, multi-party secure computation, federated learning, homomorphic encryption, differential privacy, and secret computing.
