TikTok Cracks Down on Blind Box Chaos: 4000+ Illegal Live Streaming Sessions Disrupted, Over 1000 Influencer Accounts Cleared
August 8th, Douyin e-commerce safety and trust center published a statement saying that Douyin e-commerce attaches great importance to consumer rights protection and continuously cracks down on illegal and irregular behaviors that disrupt market order. From 2025 to now, the platform has taken systematic governance measures against blind box-related irregular behaviors, disrupting over 4000+ illegal live streaming sessions, and clearing over 1000+ influencer accounts.
According to Douyin e-commerce's Blind Box Goods Management Regulations, the platform currently only allows the sale of factory-made blind boxes or blind box sets that are not self-assembled by third parties. This mainly refers to products produced and packaged in factories as blind boxes or blind box sets.
The article states that against the behavior of using blind boxes for illegal marketing, Douyin e-commerce will continue to improve its governance system:
1. Improve and upgrade platform rules: issue Blind Box Goods Management Regulations, clarify live streaming play rules, such as requiring display of disassembly rates.
2. Upgrade punishment intensity: based on the severity of irregular behavior, take measures including warnings, removal of irregular goods (off-vehicle), suspension of live streaming, closure of e-commerce permissions, freezing of commissions, permanent closure of product sharing permissions, deduction of breach fines, and clearance of influencer accounts.
3. Enhance rule promotion: increase identification of irregular promotional content, focusing on pushing rules explaining the prohibition of promoting products in an uncertain manner.
4. Upgrade irregular behavior recognition: upgrade irregular behavior recognition strategies to improve timeliness.
