Unlawful Data Collection, Window Pop-ups and Redirects: These Apps Have Been Warned

A journalist from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology learned on August 4 that, based on relevant laws and regulations, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has launched a governance campaign against APPs, SDKs (third-party software development toolkits) for unlawful data collection and use of personal information. In recent weeks, an examination of 23 APPs and SDKs by third-party testing organizations found that they all exhibited behaviors infringing on users' rights.

According to reports, the aforementioned APPs and SDKs should be revised in accordance with relevant regulations. If these revisions are not implemented, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will organize corresponding measures under the law.
