Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhousheng Visits Canada, Holds Talks with Canadian Deputy Foreign Minister Morison
Glon Hui July 31st|According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on July 30th, 2025, Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhousheng visited Canada and held talks with Canadian Deputy Foreign Minister Morison. The two sides had candid and in-depth exchanges of views on Sino-Canadian relations and issues of common concern at the international and regional levels. Ma Zhousheng said that China is willing to work together with Canada, adhering to the principles of mutual respect, equality, mutual benefit, and win-win cooperation, with the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Canada and the 20th anniversary of the establishment of a strategic partnership as opportunities, to maintain the position of a strategic partner, seek a correct approach to get along, handle differences properly, and promote the improvement and development of Sino-Canadian relations. The two sides agreed to strengthen high-level exchanges, maintain communication and dialogue at all levels; strengthen practical cooperation, continue to engage in dialogue and consultation in fields such as trade, consular affairs, and law enforcement; and promote people-to-people exchanges, support cultural, educational, and local exchange cooperation between the two countries. The two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the China-Canada Scholars Exchange Program.
