Global Times August 4th｜VinFast, Vietnam's electric vehicle manufacturer, has announced that it is in talks with multiple component suppliers as it aims to secure more local component supplies. At the inauguration ceremony of its Indian factory held in the southern city of Tuticorin, Pham Sanh Chau, CEO of VinFast Asia, expressed that the company is discussing deals with some existing component suppliers, with some of them hoping to shift part of their production to India's industrial zones. "We have also received consultations from a Vietnamese manufacturer, who hopes to relocate their plastic production business to support our automotive projects," he added, although he did not reveal the name of the companies being considered.
