Why Make In-Cabin Laser? Qijie M7 Product Manager Explains: No "Sharp Edges" for a More Aesthetically Pleasing Design
Phoenix Technology News, August 14th. Qijie M7 product manager @Fouyue Moser released an article explaining why Qijie M7 wants to make "in-cabin laser".
He stated that after the pro version was launched last year, it received a lot of positive feedback from car owners, who felt that the pro version without "sharp edges" looked more aesthetically pleasing; however, our ultra users believed that external laser radar had better recognition capabilities and stronger assistant driving abilities. After discussing this, we agreed that "sharp edges" do have recognition capabilities and are quite "technologically fashionable", with a focus on high-level assistant driving. Meanwhile, the design without "sharp edges" is also what everyone likes to see. Therefore, this plan was developed to balance M7's design and safety performance.
The new Qijie M7 car has officially started preheating, with the addition of a new 4D millimeter wave radar + rear-facing solid-state laser radar, upgraded half-hidden door handles, and optional 21-inch obsidian sports wheels. It will be released in September.
