BMW Recalls Over 1,000 Imported and Domestic X5 Vehicles
Phoenix News Tech 8th August, According to information released by the State Market Supervision Administration, BMW (China) Automotive Trading Co., Ltd. and Haval BMW Automobile Co., Ltd. have filed a recall plan with the State Market Supervision Administration in accordance with the "Rules for Managing Defective Vehicle Products" and its implementing procedures.
Among them, recall number S2025M0120V: From today onwards, recalling imported X5 vehicles produced on November 26, 2024, a total of 1 vehicle. Recall number S2025M0121V: From today onwards, recalling domestic X5 vehicles produced from July 20, 2024, to December 19, 2024, a total of 379 vehicles; and produced from July 18, 2024, to January 6, 2025, a total of 1012 vehicles.
Some of the recalled vehicles may have the power connector of the starter motor generator not manufactured according to specifications, causing the positive terminal of the starter motor generator to be loose and the electrical resistance to increase abnormally. In extreme cases, it may cause the vehicle to stall or catch fire during driving, posing a safety risk.
BMW (China) Automotive Trading Co., Ltd. and Haval BMW Automobile Co., Ltd. will provide free inspections for vehicles in the recall scope and replace the starter motor generator as needed; inspect related cables and perform repairs or replacements as necessary to eliminate safety risks.
