BYD sold around 470,000 new energy cars to overseas markets in the first half of this year, laying a solid foundation for its goal of selling over one million units by the end of the year.
The data also shows that the company broke through again in the European market, which is an important increase in overseas sales. In Spain, the brand's monthly sales exceeded 10,000 units, with a year-on-year growth rate of 756.1%, and its market share reached around 9.7%. In Italy, the brand registered over 9,000 units in the first half of this year, with a year-on-year growth rate of 140%, and its market share broke through 10%, with models such as Song PLUS DM-i becoming a hot item among European consumers. Not only in Europe, but BYD also achieved rapid growth in the American market.
In the first half of this year, BYD continued to lead the Brazilian new energy car market, selling around 47,000 units, with a year-on-year growth rate of about 45%. This figure is even higher than the total sales of the second to tenth places. In contrast, the brand's sales in Brazil last year were only 260 units.
In the highly competitive Asian-Pacific market, BYD also achieved a performance that has won envy from its peers. In Thailand, BYD not only dominated the new energy car and pure electric vehicle sales rankings, but also accounted for as high as 35% of the pure electric market share. In Singapore, the brand became the champion of passenger car sales in the first half of this year.
