European Consumers Fall in Love with Chinese Pool Robots
This period, Shenzhen-based company Sibot Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Sibot") has seen a surge in demand for its pool robots.
"Our factory's output this year has already exceeded 300,000 units," said Li Jian, head of Sibot's international sales team, in an interview. Last year, the company's product output was around 100,000 units, while this year, it reached 10,000 units within a month, with 70% of orders coming from European customers on Aliexpress.
Following the success of its robotic vacuum cleaners and lawn mowers, Sibot has set its sights on the global pool robot market. With its competitive prices and technological advantages, Chinese pool robots are gaining popularity worldwide.
High-value-added products drive European market
Sibot was established in 2021, initially targeting the B-end market for commercial pools. When sales were sluggish, the team noticed the demand for private pool cleaning and shifted its focus.
Private pools are a unique consumer scenario overseas. Relevant data shows that there are over 28 million private pools worldwide, with nearly half relying on manual cleaning, with single-family homes paying over $100 per session. Another significant factor is that private pools are concentrated in Western countries, with the United States having over 1 million pools.
Therefore, the United States is Sibot's primary target market for its C-end products, mainly relying on e-commerce platforms. After the business stabilized, the company entered the European market at the end of 2023.
Compared to the US market, many European consumers still view pool robots as "high-end" products.

However, on Aliexpress, Sibot's wireless pool robot is priced around $400. With platform subsidies, European consumers can get the product for as low as $300, offering a high-value-added advantage.
Sibot's pool robots also have technical advantages. "Our products have features like wall-climbing capabilities and gear-driven motors with removable batteries," said Li Jian, highlighting one of Sibot's exclusive advantages.
The company's pool robot technology has also been optimized through the development of a unique motor drive system, which has increased the product's lifespan by extending the life of its gear-driven motors.
These high-value-added products and technical advantages have enabled Sibot to rapidly increase sales in Europe, with over 70% of orders coming from Aliexpress. Li Jian revealed that the company's overall export volume has exceeded last year's figures, with the United States accounting for 70% of exports and Europe accounting for 30%.
In terms of overseas channels, Sibot relies heavily on Aliexpress, which has enabled the company to rapidly penetrate the European market. With Aliexpress's recommendations, Sibot has launched a flagship product designed specifically for European customers.
Additionally, by leveraging Aliexpress's "overseas warehousing" model, Sibot has pre-stocked products in overseas warehouses, reducing delivery times and costs. According to Aliexpress, over the past year, the platform has helped 95% of its partner brands achieve annual sales of over $1 million.
Promoting product accelerated intelligentization
According to Li Jian's observations, the pool robot export market is still a "blue ocean" market. After two years of rapid growth, many Chinese manufacturers have entered this sector.
IDC's quarterly tracking report on the global smart home cleaning robot device market shows that by the first half of 2025, global pool robot shipments (including wired and wireless pool robots) will reach 933,000 units, with a year-on-year growth rate of 18.7%.
IDC's report also notes that the current global pool robot market is still at a relatively low penetration level, with vast development potential.
Currently, the pool robot manufacturing industry is dominated by overseas manufacturers, while Chinese brands are rapidly rising to prominence, particularly in the wireless pool robot segment. Domestic manufacturers have seized control of the European market, pushing for product accelerated intelligentization.
As the pioneer of this sector, Sibot will continue to leverage Aliexpress's platform to expand its presence in Australia, Southeast Asia, and South America, among other markets.
