OpenAI is set to release GPT-5

China Times Technology News, Beijing time August 7, according to The Verge, OpenAI announced yesterday that it will release a major update on Thursday. According to OpenAI's clear hints, the long-awaited GPT-5 large model is about to debut.

OpenAI indicated that it will hold a livestream event at 10:00 PM US Pacific Time (Friday 1:00 AM Beijing time), replacing the "s" in "livestream" with "5", which may imply the release of GPT-5 model.

Recent signs suggest that GPT-5 is imminent. Last Sunday, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman released a screenshot with "ChatGPT 5" written in the top-left corner. On Monday, the head of application research also posted that he was "looking forward to seeing how the public will respond to GPT-5". Moreover, Altman had previously indicated that OpenAI plans to release GPT-5 "very soon".
