L90 Launches 60-Degree Battery Pack Rental Trial for BaaS Users Only
Phoenix Tech News, August 11th. Shen Fei, CEO of Lao Dao, announced the official launch of the L90 Car Type 60-Degree Battery Pack Rental Trial Scheme, responding to widespread user demand for smaller battery packs. Shen Fei stated that after the L90 went on sale, users through comments, surveys, and live interactions consistently expressed their desire for a "60-degree battery pack", especially commuters who believe an "85-degree battery is too large and 60 degrees is sufficient and more cost-effective".
Based on the NIO's "swappable and upgradable" battery system, L90's 60-degree battery rental does not pose technical barriers. Shen Fei revealed that in recent months, test drive cars and high-ranking officials' vehicles have all been equipped with 60-degree batteries for actual use without any inconvenience. Data shows that over 96% of NIO car owners and 97.7% of Lao Dao L60 car owners prefer standard battery packs (60/75 degrees), while over 70% users adopt BaaS battery rental services, reflecting a shift from "bigger is better" to "good enough is fine" rational consumer behavior.
This trial policy only applies to BaaS users, and southern commuters (especially those with home charging capabilities) can contact sales to apply for changes. After selecting the 60-degree battery, users can enjoy daily city driving ranges of over 400km, reduced monthly rental fees by ¥300, and an annual savings of ¥3600. Long-distance needs can be met through flexible upgrades to 85-degree batteries (¥45 per day), with a total expenditure still saving around ¥2700 over the year.
The policy details show that locked-in users need to contact Fellow for changes; users who have taken delivery of their vehicles can permanently downgrade to ¥1 within three months; and users who select 60-degree batteries enjoy a "regret insurance" – the right to upgrade to 85-degree batteries at ¥1 per year within one year. Purchase customers can later use 60-degree batteries through battery sharing plans.
Shen Fei explained with his own example, saying, "I'll still choose a 60-degree battery even without home charging in Shanghai; occasionally I travel to the western region and then upgrade flexibly. Users residing long-term on or beyond the Huaihe River or Yellow River can recommend selecting an 85-degree battery, while users with home charging capabilities can choose according to their needs".
