Lei Jun Congratulates Xiaopeng Automobile's Record-Breaking Endurance Test and Xiaomi Records 17 km
Xinhua Technology News, August 15th. Lei Jun, founder, chairman, and CEO of Xiaomi, forwarded Xiaopeng Automobile's Weibo post, congratulating the company on completing the "24-hour endurance test for pure electric cars" and setting a new record. Lei Jun said it was extremely impressive! He also welcomed more manufacturers to participate and jointly drive the development of the automotive industry!
Subsequently, Xiaomi Automobile's official account also released a congratulatory message, stating that it would work together with Xiaopeng Automobile to continuously refine products and drive the progress of the automotive industry.
Prior to this, Xiaopeng Automobile's chairman, He Xiaopeng, announced that the new Xiaopeng P7 had undergone a 24-hour endurance test, ultimately achieving an impressive distance of 3961 km and completing the challenge. He Xiaopeng mentioned in his post that Lei Jun had previously shared the historical records of this challenge: Porsche Taycan ran 3425 km in 2019, Mercedes-Benz CLA ran 3717 km in 2024, and Xiaomi YU7 ran 3944 km in 2025. Now, the new Xiaopeng P7 has left its mark on the milestone.
He Xiaopeng felt deeply that this test was nonpareil, and it had thoroughly validated the impressive capabilities of Xiaopeng P7's overall three-electric system. However, the project faced difficulties beyond expectations due to adverse weather conditions such as heavy rain and fog, forcing a temporary halt in testing. Thankfully, the team quickly adjusted and continued testing after the rain subsided.
In fact, the "24-hour endurance test for pure electric cars" is a challenge initiated by Lei Jun. On June 25th, Lei Jun had previously revealed that Xiaomi YU7 underwent an extremely rigorous 24-hour endurance test before its release. The challenge required Xiaomi YU7 to continuously drive for 24 hours (including charging time), with no personnel changes and no vehicle replacements, thereby testing the car's ability to complete the challenge and achieving the final distance. This test may seem simple at first glance, but it is actually a comprehensive examination of the entire vehicle's power, charging efficiency, durability, and reliability, making it a daunting task for electric cars. In the end, the Xiaomi YU7 Max test car achieved a distance of 3944 km. Xiaopeng Automobile's current record exceeds that of Xiaomi Automobile by 17 km.
