Overnight US Stocks | Dow Drops 0.46%, Nasdaq Falls 0.38%
According to a report, on Tuesday, US stocks opened lower as investors await the outcome of the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision this week. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 204.57 points or 0.46% to 44,632.99, while the Nasdaq Composite fell 80.29 points or 0.38% to 21,098.29.
Apple (AAPL.US), Tesla (TSLA.US) and NVIDIA (NVDA.US) all dropped around 1%, with NVO (NVO.US) falling 21.8%. The Nasdaq China Index dropped 1.35%, Alibaba (BABA.US) fell 2%, and Ideal Auto (LI.US) fell 6%.
The European markets were mixed, with the German DAX30 index rising 274.26 points or 1.15% to 24,218.77, while the British FTSE100 index rose 54.61 points or 0.60% to 9,136.05.
The Asian markets were also mixed, with the Nikkei 225 index dropping 0.79%, the KOSPI index rising 0.66%, and the Indonesian Composite Index rising 0.04%.
Oil prices rose 2.50 dollars or 3.75% to 69.21 dollars per barrel, while Brent crude oil rose 2.47 dollars or 3.53% to 72.51 dollars per barrel.
The dollar index rose 0.26% against six major currencies and closed at 98.888.
The precious metals were mixed, with gold rising over 0.3% and silver falling slightly.
Bitcoin fell 0.38% to 117,568.7 dollars per coin, while Ethereum fell 0.59% to 3,778.45 dollars per coin.
