Rideal Car's Response to Ideal i8 and East Dragon Truck Crash Test Results
On August 3rd evening, Riideal Car's official Weibo account published an announcement titled "About the Safety Crash Test of Riideal i8" as follows:
One: Why did we conduct this test
Riideal Car has always prioritized user safety, committed to creating a safe and reassuring travel space for every family. Therefore, during the development of Riideal i8, we adopted the "short front suspension safety structure" design, which ensured both the provision of a spacious driving space akin to an MPV and the passive safety performance of the vehicle.
To ensure the reliability of our new design, we decided to conduct active simulation tests for critical scenarios that pose significant risks to users' safety. We entrusted China Automotive Engineering Research Institute Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "China Auto Research") with conducting high-intensity crash tests and presenting the results through video formats in a transparent and realistic manner. Our intention was to let users see our efforts and achievements in enhancing vehicle safety.
Confronting complex, unpredictable real-world road environments, we are aware of the danger of "small car colliding with large truck" and the extremely high requirements for vehicle safety. This has been a major concern for many users of passenger vehicles and is also a mainstream approach adopted by many automobile companies worldwide.
Two: The Test Results
This test was conducted in accordance with the normal highway traffic accident scenario, entrusting China Auto Research to execute. As a state-owned research institution and an important platform for product development, testing, and quality inspection in the Chinese automotive industry, Riideal Car highly recognizes China Auto Research's professional abilities and testing impartiality.
Riideal i8's innovative short front suspension safety structure features three longitudinal force transmission paths forward and 11 ring-shaped absorption structures in the front compartment, effectively dissipating the impact forces caused by frontal collisions and enhancing the vehicle's passive safety level. After this test, Riideal i8's A-pillar, B-pillar, C-pillar, and door frame did not exhibit significant deformation; all nine safety airbags functioned normally; the battery pack showed no signs of leakage or fire; the doors automatically unlocked, and the handles popped open, fully demonstrating Riideal i8's safety.
Three: The Impact of This Event on Public Opinion
This test was solely intended to verify and enhance Riideal i8's passive safety performance and not to evaluate the quality of other brands. The test results should not be interpreted as a statement about the quality of other products. We used an East Dragon brand second-hand truck only as a mobile obstacle, without any intention or evaluation of its quality.
Regarding the misunderstandings and one-sided interpretations that have appeared in online discussions due to our failure to understand the test purpose and process, Riideal Car hopes through this statement to restore the facts and provide more authentic references for industry communication.
East Dragon is a flagship brand of China's trucking industry, known for its quality and safety. For this reason, we especially clarify that there is no direct competition between Riideal Car and East Dragon. We are focused on family passenger vehicles, while the latter is an outstanding representative in China's trucking industry with over 30 years of history.
