On August 14th, the world's first comprehensive robot competition with humanoid robots as participants - the 2025 World Humanoid Robot Sports Festival - officially kicked off at Beijing National Speed Skating Rink "Ice Ribbon", featuring 26 events, 487 matches, and attracting teams from 16 countries, 280 teams, and over 500 robots.
UruTree Technology brought its humanoid robot G1 to participate in the boxing match. On site, the approximately 1.3-meter-tall, 35-kilogram G1 robot is warming up on the ring, equipped with 29 degrees of freedom and a maximum torque of 120N.m.
It's said that G1 humanoid robots can perform super difficult actions such as straight punches, left-right hooks, uppercuts, combination punches, front kicks, left-right side kicks, dodges, and gets up after falling down.
Prior to this, Wang Xingxing publicly stated that humanoid robots performing boxing, dancing, etc. is a way that ordinary people would prefer. He also mentioned that the humanoid robot industry has been growing rapidly. "In my opinion, this year's first half in China's smart robot industry, whether it's a whole machine manufacturer or a component supplier, has reached an average growth rate of 50% to 100%."
